During the last few years, bioinformatics has been overwhelmed with increasing floods of data both in terms of volumes and in terms of new databases and new types of data. This deluge of genomic information has in turn, led to an absolute requirement for computerized databases to store, organize and and index the data and for specilized tools to view and analyze the data.
