About the Author
Bernd Evers completed his doctorate in art history before embarking on a career as a librarian; since 1985 he has been director of the Kunstbibliothek der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin. He has published numerous articles on book and library studies, and a central topic of his research is the architectural history of the 17th to 19th centuries. Christof Thoenes studied art history in Berlin and Pavia, before completing his doctorate in Berlin. Thoenes lives in Rome, where for many years he has worked for the Bibliotheca Hertziana (Max-Planck-Institute), and is honorary professor in Hamburg. He has contributed to numerous publications on Italian art, particularly on architecture and architectural theory of the 15th to 18th centuries.

No dust jackets but a white slipcase with maroon titles to spine and front and black and white drawing to front. 848 pp. in total, extensively illustrated in black and white. The books are in near fine condition with just a trace of shelf-wear to the extremities of their covers. The bindings are tight and the pages clean and unmarked. The slipcase is very good with just minor shelf-wear to the extremities and a small mark to the back. The set weighs 2.3 kg., additional postage will be required. A very nice set.
