Ziel des Supply Chain Management ist eine integrierte, unternehmensübergreifende Gestaltung von Wertschöpfungsnetzwerken. Um die damit verbundenen Potenziale zu erschließen, ist eine gezielte Messung und Steuerung der Performance von Supply Chains notwendig. Die in der Unternehmenspraxis etablierten Instrumente, z.B. Kennzahlensysteme, sind jedoch größtenteils nicht für den interorganisationalen Einsatz geeignet.
Mit seiner Konzeption des Supply Chain Performance Management (SCPM) präsentiert Michael Karrer einen prozessorientierten Managementansatz zur kennzahlengestützten Steuerung unternehmensübergreifender Supply Chains. Hierzu analysiert er die Aufgaben des Performance Measurement und des Performance Management auf der Ebene des einzelnen Supply-Chain-Akteurs, der bilateralen Kooperationsbeziehung und des komplexen strategischen Netzwerks. Die daraus resultierenden Handlungsempfehlungen überprüft er anhand einer explorativen empirischen Untersuchung in der Automobil- und in der Konsumgüterbranche.
About the Author
Dr. Michael Karrer promovierte bei Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stölzle am Lehrstuhl für Betriebswirtschaftslehre mit Schwerpunkt Logistik und Verkehrsbetriebslehre der Universität Duisburg-Essen (Campus Duisburg). Neben seinen Aufgaben in der Lehre forscht er schwerpunktmäßig auf den Gebieten Logistik, Supply Chain Management und Controlling.
