Synopsis

Praised as an arcadia of fine arts, praised as a place of quiet, noble life in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Germany, marked by the tradition of Prussian gloria, but also by the political dislocations of the recent German past - so multifaceted is the image that Potsdam offers. The texts of this book unfold an exciting panorama of history and present of the former garrison town with its world-famous castles and parks. The photos show the Brandenburg state capital as it is today and how history is reflected in it. The Potsdam of the past and the Potsdam proud of its present are united in this book: to look, read, reflect.
