Synopsis
She was born on the knight's estate Ludom in Prussian Poznan, but Central Germany was the origin area, Berlin her choice and the mark her love. Nevertheless, she was a sharp critic of Prussian noble society. Male domination and oppression of women were resistance to political change for her. She demanded to live women's liberation, to want a new honour: no longer "pleasure object", "servant", "bearer".
In the Weimar Republic, she condemned the political murders from the right: Germany a "Republic without Republicans". Their immediate estate was embezzled, given everything available in 1933 "to paper collection" by the Schillerstiftung in Weimar.
The biographer reconstructs the unusual life of an emotional woman from documents, work samples and the controversial opposite voice of the Swiss writer Paul Ilg.
