Die simultane Losgrößen- und Ablaufplanung in der Fertigungsindustrie zeichnet sich durch eine hohe Komplexität aus. Aus diesem Grund sind exakte mathematische Verfahren zur Lösung industrieller Problemstrukturen in der Regel ungeeignet. Doch praxisorientierte Methoden und Modelle zur Lösung von Produktionsplanungsproblemen liegen bislang noch nicht vor.
