Algorithms determine our position. From Google PageRank algorithm to lending, their logic intervenes in our lives at every turn. Some of them work opaque and shield their inner workings from prying eyes. Others strive for transparency and follow an ethic of open source. In both cases, however, a significant effort is required to understand the source codes in which algorithms are written. Codes are special text: they implement commands when executed and reduce expression on directives. They are therefore more and less than ordinary language. At the same time, they always carry a meta-level with the ability to comment on which you can communicate about how it works. Therefore, they also require a special philology. The source code criticism presented by this volume is the attempt to tap into algorithms, interpret them and make them accessible to present as well as future readers. It mobilises access that is as at home in computer science as in text criticism. At the same time, she suggests strategies to deal with those new language models where codes are only at the beginning, while their statistical interior remains impenetrable. The contributions thus provide examples and methods of how to make classic code and artificial intelligence readable.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware -Algorithmen bestimmen unsere Lage. 336 pp. Deutsch. Seller Inventory # 9783751890205
