Emil Ruder : Né à Zurich en 1914, décédé à Bâle 1970. Fréquenté les Ecoles primaire et secondaire de Zurich. Apprentissage de typographe. Séjour d'étude à Paris. Obtention du diplôme de langue française du Cercle Commercial Suisse de Paris. Activité en tant que prote à Zurich. Enseignement à l'Ecole des Arts et Métiers de Zurich, classe de composition et d'imprimerie. Enseignement chez Willimann et Kaech. Promu professeur principal de typographie à l'Ecole des Métiers de Bâle. Directeur du département 3 de l'Ecole des Métiers de Bâle (section apprentissage des arts industriels).
