Synopsis
Case Analysis on Lean Manufacturing in Small Sector Industries is scripted to give an insight to lean manufacturing practices that can be implemented by eradicating wastage to a considerable extent. Proposals and suggestions are developed for few small scale units keeping in mind the constraints that are usually responsible for loss.This project approaches the measurement of energy efficiency from a lean production theoretic framework and uses Observation envelopment analysis to measure lean production in a manufacturing facility. The energy efficiency measures in manufacturing across MSME industries in Uttarakhand state of India requires precarious awareness and upliftment.

About the Author
Mainak Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor in Electrical , Energy & Power Department at University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun having completed M.Tech in Energy Systems previously from University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun itself. He also holds BE in Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University.
