The study presents a broad analysis of the labor markets in most of the Eastern European new members of the EU. The central question is: To what extent have the structural characteristics of the labor markets changed in the wake of the recent recessions? The study shows that most of the changes observed in the labor markets had a cyclical nature, however, the results differ significantly with respect to the particular economy. The study aims at both theoretical and professional economists.
