Synopsis

Salinity stress is a major abiotic stress which severely affects the productivity of crops all over the world. The present study was conducted with the objectives to evaluate different rice genotypes under salt stress. This evaluation is under hydroponic conditions at seedling stage.It has be concluded that salinity stress had significant inhibitory effects on seedling traits. Genotypes studied under this project could be utilized in future breeding program to release salt tolerant rice varieties.

About the Author

Muhammad Shahid has obtained his M.Sc.(Hons.) degree in Plant Breeding & Genetics from University of Agriculture Fsd. Pakistan. Since then he has worked in different national and international projects in the field of agricultural research and development. He is also author of some scientific articles published in well reputed journals.
