Field and laboratory studies were carried out to determine efficacy of four insecticides viz., chlorpyrifos, alphacypermethrin, imidacloprid and bifenthrins+cypermethrin. Mortality was determined at predetermined time intervals at six concentrations of each insecticide under laboratory conditions compared with one control concentration. Chlorpyrifos 48 EC was the most effective followed by alphacypermethrin 10 SC, imidacloprid 5 EC and cypermethrin+bifenthrin 3.5 EC, having LT50 values 39.07h, 41.45h, 50.45h and 54.45h respectively. The movement of termites around ERL building from two different sites having different conditions was observed. During extreme environmental factors (June-July and mid-November February); population was high in mulberry field while in normal days (March-May and August-October) population was massive in fallow field. The access of termites to farm materials was monitored for six months at fortnightly, and percent damage of kept wood was analyzed. The results revealed that damage was least in higher concentration and utmost in case of control having mean 3.58 and 32.75 % .
