Prevalence of helminths in tropical and sub tropical areas has weighed down production potential of livestock development programmes by causing countless deaths and insidious economic losses. Main purpose of this study was the investigation of helminth’s prevalence in the ruminats of Tehsil Jatoi, Sothern Punjab, Pakistan. Therefore, 100 faecal samples of each cattle, buffalo, sheep and goat were examined by direct, indirect (sedimentation and floatation techniques) and coproculture techniques. Overall prevalence was 53% comprising 51% in cattle, 47% in buffalo, 62% in sheep and 52% in goat. To know the dependence of helminth’s prevalence on sex and age of animal Chi-square statistical design was applied to data. All the results were non significant due to some factors which directly affects the helminth’s prevalence.

Muhammad Asif Raza is working as Lecturer in University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan (sub campus DG Khan) since 2008, after his DVM & M.Sc (Hons) Vet Parasitology. He was honoured PhD Scholarship from International Center for Development and Decent Work (DAAD) during the year 2010 and currently doing PhD from University of Kassel, Germany.
