Synopsis

Modeling and Simulation of Steam and Hydro Turbines are the basic ingredients for teaching and research in the area of power systems. The need is often felt for detailed models along with proper data to delve into such studies. The controllers developed may be tested on detailed turbine models described in this book. The turbines and their components are discussed in brief and then the detailed functional block diagrams as well as their SIMULINK models are developed right from boiler dynamics to different types of turbine controls. Relevant IEEE recommendations are also included for ready reference. The book would be useful for postgraduate electrical engineering students and researchers in the field of electrical engineering majoring in the area of power system stability and control. The book would be equally useful for practitioners working in the field of power system dynamics.
