Synopsis
Between racing petrol and printer black. At 21, he won his first race on Bugatti, he tamed the sixteen-cylinder of the Auto Union and kept the silver arrows in check on Maserati: Paul Pietsch wrote racing history. His second career was no less successful: he founded the magazine from which »auto,motor und sport« was created, initiated other magazines and book publishers and found time to become German racing and sports car champion in the 50s. This updated biography appears for his 100th birthday and tells the life story of a man who relativised his successes with his own modesty: "You always have to have a little luck in his life." Probably true - but luck is known only the capable one.
