Synopsis
The automotive transformation represents an essential element of the energy transition. The switch to electric cars aims to promote more ecological mobility. At the same time, progressive digitization of vehicles poses additional challenges for the automotive industry. How this conversion – especially in Thuringia based companies – the car (supplier) industry succeeds is controversial. Against the background of changing areas of activity (e.g. IT and electronics), more demanding management requirements (e.g. intercultural workforces) and a progressive shortage of skilled workers, qualification must play a central role in the energy transition. However, what the current difficulties of operational qualification exist and what coping strategies of transformation might look like overall is discussed in this volume.
