Synopsis
Award-winning American author Ha Jin tells in a grand development novel with poignant power about the fate of a Chinese family in the United States and man's search for love and the right place in life. Chinese student Nan Wu and his wife Pingping decide in the summer of 1989, shortly after the events on Tiananmen Square, to stay in the USA and start a new life there. Finally, they can now also get their six-year-old son Taotao, who quickly gets used to the new environment.
