Synopsis
The majority of patients present with extensive cancer and, as a result, most of these have to be treated with 'non-curative' intent. This major and difficult problem has not been previously tackled and this book asks questions such as how does non-curative intent relate to good quality and quantity of life and how effective is this treatment at relieving symptoms? The result is a review of non-curative surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy which are all discussed as they relate to the different types and locations of tumours.
