Synopsis
In recent decades, improvements in microsurgical technique and instrumentation have made the transplantation of distant free tissue with immediate vascularization practical and widespread. The results of reconstructive and reparative microsurgery have improved greatly and brought benefit to handicapped people by restoring the function of their deficient limbs. Based on Dr Yu Zhong-Jia's experience over many years in microsurgery, this book describes the great advances that have attracted attention in new microsurgical techniques used to reconstruct the thumb, fingers and hand and to repair soft tissue and bone defects of the extremities. Only the most recent innovations in microsurgery are introduced, and they are well illustrated by numerous examples.
