His life comes back in motion when he is assigned to bring back a disturbed young man from Warsaw. Again in Duisburg, he falls in love with the waitress Marja, but then the past catches up with him: he learns about the release of the perpetrator and attaches to his heels.

Zaimoglu depicts the drama of a person who hardly holds anything in life, against the backdrop of a world marked by a long tradition and is just reinventing itself. Great German literature!
