Synopsis

The Autodesk program Inventor® is a high-performance system for 3D construction. It is pioneering due to its innovative adaptive technology for three-dimensional construction. Inventor features an intuitive graphical interface and great ease of use. It is the appropriate instrument in teaching to convey the principles of 3D CAD construction. In this teaching and practice book, all construction steps are presented in such detail using detailed examples that the reader can work independently into the program. This will consistently demonstrate diverse volume-oriented modeling, assembly, technical drawing, presentation and documentation, including project management with Autodesk Vault. A chapter with helpful tips and tricks deals with many small things, whose practical implementation a constructor sometimes spends more time than on the construction itself. It was important to describe a technical system for learning CAD modelling techniques interesting (but still manageable) for mechanical engineering and adjacent subject areas. Exercises and tasks on all subject areas complete the book. The book has been written largely on the basis of Inventor version 8. For compatibility reasons, most exercise files on the CD were additionally created with version 7. All exercises can therefore be performed with the current Inventor versions 6 to 9 (and following).
