Synopsis

Funny, grotesque, clairvoyant and full of black humor and melancholy, Marjana Gaponenko tells in her new novel of the evil awakening of a modern do-nothing that drastically learns some helpful lessons for life. Kaspar, a spoiled young man in good Viennese society, studies something aimlessly aimlessly in front of him, and seems to understand less of the people, especially the women around him, than from the ponies his wealthy father collects. The father Adam, an engineer and self-made man from Poland, worships horse-drawn carriages and carriage horses and delivers himself a fateful race with the only son.
