Increasing the influence of technology to include all aspects of our life, including higher education institutions, places developing countries under pressure to adopt technology in their education. However, adopting e-learning results in several challenges and barriers that must be urgently addressed by the administration of higher education institutions, before initiating the implementation stages, which allow them to identify the current situation and determine what the future steps toward e-learning are. To help them in their efforts to successfully adopt e-learning, the current study examines and explores the technological factors that influence the involvement of full time students and faculty members of the English Literature School at two Universities in e-learning. Additionally, it investigates their general attitude towards engaging in e-learning programs. The results show that both faculty members and students are not ready neither technologically nor culturally mainly because of the current ICT infrastructure they are provided with.
