Due to some resistant varieties of sugarcane the epidemics of red rot has been reduced but due to emergence of new pathotypes of red rot pathogen crop is usually effected. Though red rot of sugarcane is very important disease, hardly any proper compilation has been done except few reviews and book chapter. This book is a kind of efforts to understand the host and disease properly.

About the Author

Dr. Mohammad Israil Ansari is Associate Professor at Department of Botany, University of Lucknow, Lucknow. He did his M.Sc. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, INDIA and Ph.D. from Dr. RML Avadh University, Faizabad. Dr. Ansari was associated as Research Scientist with Academia Sinica, Taiwan and National Taiwan University, Taiwan (2000-2007).
