Little mutations/deletions within these sequences can lead to phenotypic diversity at the species level. A comprehensive study on CRE will broaden the toolbox of available promoters for use in plant biotechnology. Recent advances in bioinformatics have opened new vista to discover novel promoters and their cis-elements which can be improved further by development of more robust computational methods.
