Climate is changing and it is also believed that, the change will continue in the future with its adverse impact on agriculture. Ethiopia is one of the sub-Saharan African countries where agriculture greatly dominates the overall performance of economy. The country is highly vulnerable to climate change impacts. The high vulnerability of the country is emanated from high dependence of the economy on rain-fed agriculture. This indicates that the country’s agriculture must adapt to the changing climate. Therefore, understanding smallholder farmers’ perceptions and response to climatic changes at micro-level is crucial in designing appropriate supportive policy to adaptation strategies of the climate change. Therefore, this book presents the way smallholder farmers perceive the climate change both at local and global level, their understanding on the contributing factors to climate change, adaptation strategies used to the climate change to minimize the negative impacts on their livelihoods and also briefly presents the major factors that affects adaptation strategy choices of smallholder farmers.
