Therefore, the present study makes substantial contribution to the literature in this field. The key objectives of the present study is involving sustainable intensification of crop production and location-specific attempts on crop intensification to the char vulnerable farmers of Bangladesh. They aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in food grains production in a sustainable manner by improving the productivity on a short and medium term basis. The government is also implementing programmes to promote crop intensification involving high-value crops, fruits and vegetables, potatoes, oilseeds, pulses and spices through appropriate packages of seed-fertilizer-irrigation technologies, This is expected to increase employment, rural income and improve nutritional standards as well as food security.
