Synopsis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), as a serious RA complication took the life of many people’s worldwide. As of now, doctors do not know what causes the disease, although it is estimated that it likely brought on by a combination of factors including genetics and environmental influences such as arsenic(As) exposure. Arsenic(As) is a paradoxical human carcinogen affecting millions of people around the world. At present, people in more than 35 countries across the globe are affected by drinking arsenic-contaminated ground water. Because there isn’t one specific cause of the disease, there is also no known cure for rheumatoid arthritis. The primary function of Regulatory T cells (Treg ) was originally defined as prevention of autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid arthritis by maintaining self-tolerance. Recent report evidences that arsenic affect Treg cells population. So the authors wants to emphasise in this book that, how arsenic modulate FoxP3 expression which is a master regulator of Treg cells in Rheumatoid arthritis .This study for the first time suggests that arsenic modulate the Foxp3 gene expression.
