Synopsis

This essay assesses pastoral roles in health management and its implication for Church Growth in Oyo West Baptist Association. 8 Churches were selected for the study and a sample of 100 respondents was made from the population. Questionnaire and interview were used as research instruments through which the data were collected and the data was analyzed using simple percentage, after which the findings were thoroughly discussed. The result of findings made it clear that Pastoral role in the management of the health of Oyo West Baptist Association members has a positive impact on reducing the rate of ignorance about their health management which may lead to numerical and spiritual growth. Moreover, among other factors responsible for ineffective health management deduced from literature and the respondents are: insufficient health facilities, equipment and drugs affect the majority of government hospital whereas, the private hospital such as Baptist Medical Hospital that has enough major facilities cannot be reached by low-income people. In the light of this, it is recommended that health management in the church should be given high financial and administrative priority...

Samuel Babayemi is a trained Teacher and Pastor. He is a graduate of The Federal College of Education (SPED) Oyo and Baptist College of Theology, Oyo, Nigeria. He served as the Chaplain of NESTO College, Oyo for three years and a regional staff of The Scripture Union, Nigeria for a number of years. He is an anointed teacher of the word.
