Welcome planetary gardeners! This book, edited brought to you by French gardener, botanist and writer Gilles Clément and landscape architects Coloco, showcases how we can live in harmony with nature and appreciate the ecosystem in all its diversity, acting as a gardener and guardian. Adopting the point of view of the Planetary Gardener requires personal sensitivity, scientific rigour and practical experience. Beyond what nature can do for us, let’s ask ourselves What can we do for nature? Let’s be alarmed, let’s widen our focus, but above all let’s adopt a code of conduct and take immediate action on all fronts.
Published following the exhibition “Devenir jardinier planétaire. La préséance du vivant” at the Orangerie du Parc de la Tête d’or in Lyon, the book features the work of gardeners who work on vast territories as well as very small gardens with the same respect. They are not all landscape gardeners, nor do they only carry out commissioned projects. They are sometimes involved in situations of resistance and activism that defend the Presence of living things. The final part of the book sets out the main concepts developed by Gilles Clément and Coloco to help you get started on your part of the planetary garden.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Highlighting the diversity of our relationships with the beings that inhabit this planet together. This book, edited by French gardener, botanist and writer Gilles Clement (born 1943) and Coloco, a collective of landscape architects, artists, urban planners and botanists, showcases how we can live in harmony with nature and appreciate all its diversity, acting as gardeners and guardians. Adopting the point of view of the "planetary gardener" requires personal sensitivity, scientific rigor and practical experience. Beyond what nature can do for us, let's ask: What can we do for nature? Let's widen our focus, but above all, let's adopt a code of conduct and take immediate action on all fronts. The book features the work of gardeners who work on vast landscapes as well as very small gardens, and who are also involved in movements of resistance and activism. The final section of the book helps and inspires the reader to get started on their own part of the planetary garden.
