Dr. Shakeel Mahmood is Chairperson of the Department of Geography at Government College University Lahore—one of South Asia’s oldest Geography Departments. He holds advanced degrees including an MSc in Geography (Gold Medalist), an MSc in Geographic Information Systems, an MPhil in Applied Geomorphology, and a PhD in Geography. As Team Lead of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Research Group, he has contributed extensively to Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Resilience, and Geospatial Modeling. Author of over 80 peer-reviewed papers, he was recognized as an IRDR Young Scientist by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of Climate Change and Disasters.
