Material Senescence borrows the term “senescence” from biology to describe the ecological aging of architectural fabric. Text and photographs speculate upon the unpredictable breaking down of materials in the built environment.

Benjamin Busch (b. 1987) is an architectural designer and photographer living in Berlin. Utilizing photography as an analytical method, he investigates complex fields of relations within the built environment.
