Synopsis
"The Photographer's Dictionary" sets out to demystify over 300 key photographic and image-making terms, in an easy language and illustrated with simple, yet elegant, diagrams. Going beyond what a dictionary would provide, i.e. a definition that educates, this book elucidates too. "The Photographer's Dictionary" delves deeper into the meaning of key concepts by providing historical background, concise examples, and practical applications, in addition to the definition itself. Entries are grouped thematically, and by first principles, so that connections may be easily made between terms and explanations. Camera icons, acronyms, and proprietary terms are also explained, and cross-referenced between different brands and models. Content is arranged in two columns, with all images and 'topic tags' on the edges of each spread, for ease of navigation.

About the Author
Neil K. Guy is a writer, photographer, and computer consultant. His photographic website, www.photonotes.org, is an online resource for information and education in the digital age. He has written, edited, and contributed photographs to various titles, including two books celebrating the outdoor festival culture of North America, From Lilith to Lilith Fair and Burning Book.
