This work offers a study of the fundamentals of induction machine design and application. Starting with the first principles of electric circuits, the transformer, magnetic energy storage and the virtual displacement method of calculating magnetic forces, the equivalent circuit of a motor is developed, and the formulas for performance calculations are derived.
