Synopsis
A Port-à-l'Ecu, village perdu des Caraïbes, un groupe d'Haïtiens, guidé par le songe d'Amédée Hosange, embarque sur un frêle trois-mâts dans l'espoir d'échapper à une vie misérable. Hanté par le souvenir de son île, Normand Malavy, Haïtien exilé au Québec, part en quête de ses racines et se rend à Miami. Établissant de subtils " passages " entre les temps et les lieux, Emile Ollivier narre dans ce roman les destins croisés de personnages unis par le drame de l'exil.

About the Author
Emile Ollivier est né en 1940 à Port-au-Prince, Haïti. Membre actif de l'Union Nationale des Etudiants Haïtiens, il est contraint de s'exiler en 1964. Après un séjour d'études en France, il s'installe à Montréal, où il vit aujourd'hui et enseigne à l'université. Outre Mère-Solitude, prix Jacques Roumain 1985, il est aussi l'auteur de La Discorde aux cent voix et d'un recueil de nouvelles, Paysage de l'aveugle. Passages a reçu en 1991 le Grand Prix du livre de Montréal.
