Synopsis
La plus ancienne maison de poupée dont on connaît l'existence date de 1557; elle appartenait au Prince Albrecht V de Bavière. Depuis, la maison de poupée est devenue une tradition dans les foyers allemands et hollandais jusqu'à son âge d'or au 19' siècle, où la mode s'est répandue en Angleterre et aux Etats-Unis. Si jadis la maison de poupée était uniquement destinée aux petites filles, aujourd'hui, les miniaturistes s'adressent aux collectionneurs adultes. C'est aux Etats-Unis, il y a environ 30 ans, que ce hobby a trouvé ses premiers adeptes. Depuis, un extraordinaire artisanat d'art en miniature s'y est développé. L'Angleterre a suivi lentement, les premiers artisans anglais trouvant leurs clients aux Etats-Unis. Aujourd'hui, le hobby y bat son plein. Le même processus semble se répéter maintenant en France. Le nombre des miniaturistes français est encore modeste mais grandira avec l'engouement des Français pour la miniature.
