Synopsis
This work is directed to a public who is not specialized in medical image processing; its goal is to provide a unified and synthetic view of several medical imaging techniques. It is divided into two parts. Part One deals with "low-level", or pixel-level treatments, whereas Part Two is dedicated to "high-level" approaches that focus on global structures present in medical images. In order to review both methodological and practical aspects, each part is composed of one chapter in which fundamental tools are introduced, followed by two chapters describing how these tools are used to solve generic medical imaging problems.
