The contributions included in this first volume present the final reports on the Late Roman and Medieval cemeteries (archaeological and anthropological studies) and Environmental Studies (archaeozoological, archaeobotanical, anthracological and C-14 studies) on the Bronze Age Town Emar. Uwe Finkbeiner teaches at the Institute for Ancient Near Eastern Studies (IANES), Department of Near Eastern Archaeology of Eberhard Karls University of Tubingen. His research focuses on questions of chronology and on the possibilities of pottery analysis to pinpoint periods and their boundaries.
