Synopsis
Ouarda a tout juste 5 ans quand son père assassine sa mère. Pour la petite fille, cinquième d'une famille de sept enfants, les conséquences sont dramatiques: à la perte de sa mère s'ajoutent l'emprisonnement de son père et l'obligation d'aller vivre chez son oncle et sa tante, personnages cupides et violents, déjà parents de neuf enfants. La faim, la brutalité, l'humiliation d'appartenir à une famille montrée du doigt...: l'enfance marocaine de Ouarda est marquée du sceau de la honte. De façon poignante, Ouarda s'adresse aux hommes de tous les pays. Pour que cesse la brutalité infligée aux femmes, pour qu'enfin, par-delà les questions de religions et de coutumes, elles puissent vivre libres et accomplir leur destin.

About the Author
Née en 1974 dans la maison en argile de sa grand-mère, aux portes du Sahara occidental, Ouarda Saillo a grandi à Agadir, dans des conditions de grande précarité. À 19 ans, elle quitte le Maroc et s'installe en Allemagne, où elle se marie. Elle vit aujourd'hui à Munich. Éducatrice, elle a créé une organisation caritative venant en aide aux jeunes Marocaines exploitées. Son livre, paru initialement sous le titre Lune de larmes, a été un succès dans dix pays.
