Synopsis
En 1870, les hasards de la guerre précipitent le destin d'Aurélie Picard, jolie et ambitieuse cousette de province : elle épouse un jeune prince de l'Islam, Si Ahmed Tidjani. Après une halte à Alger, où son union avec ce musulman noir fait scandale, Aurélie découvre, éblouie, une terre sans limites, un soleil inconnu. Et quand la caravane atteint la cité d'Aïn Madhi - qui accueille son prince comme un dieu -, Aurélie se jure de conquérir le cœur de ce peuple. Elle apprendra l'arabe, portera le saroual... Et bientôt, pour tous, elle sera Lalla Yamina... Aurélie Picard, première Française au Sahara, a vraiment existé et vécu cette aventure de pionnière. Au pied du Djebel Amour se dresse encore son palais de Kourdane.

About the Author
Né à Paris en 1906, il est attiré de bonne heure par la montagne. L'alpinisme et le journalisme le conduisent à une carrière d'écrivain. Aujourd'hui, il partage son temps entre de grands reportages, les montagnes du Hoggar et Chamonix.
