C'est le dernier matin, du dernier dimanche. Le dernier petit déjeuner. Dans l'entrée du pavillon, les cartons sont prêts. Aujourd'hui Théo s'apprête à prendre son envol. Pour Anne-Marie, c'est plus qu'un choc, c'est un bouleversement. Rien ne sera plus jamais pareil. Son petit dernier quitte le nid et déjà elle se sent prise d'un vertige. Que va-t-elle faire, désormais, dans cette maison trop grande ? Bien sûr, c'est naturel, il veut " vivre sa vie ". Mais est-on encore une " mère ", quand tous ses enfants sont partis ?

About the Author
Philippe Besson est un écrivain, scénariste et dramaturge. En l'absence des hommes , son premier roman, publié en 2001, est couronné par le Prix Emmanuel-Roblès. Depuis lors, il construit une oeuvre au style à la fois sobre et raffiné. Il est l'auteur, entre autres, de Son frère, adapté au cinéma par Patrice Chéreau, L'Arrière-Saison (Grand Prix RTL-Lire), Un garçon d'Italie et La Maison atlantique . En 2017, il publie " Arrête avec tes mensonges " , couronné par le Prix Maison de la Presse. Il revient à l'autofiction en 2019 avec Un certain Paul Darrigrand puis Dîner à Montréal . En 2021, Le Dernier Enfant a paru chez Julliard. Ses romans sont traduits dans vingt langues.
