Synopsis
J'ai écrit ce livre en hommage à ma grand-mère maternelle, Idiss. Il ne prétend être ni une biographie, ni une étude de la condition des immigrés juifs de l'Empire russe venus à Paris avant 1914. Il est simplement le récit d'une destinée singulière à laquelle j'ai souvent rêvé. Puisse-t-il être aussi, au-delà du temps écoulé, un témoignage d'amour de son petit-fils. R. B. About the Author
Robert Badinter est né à Paris en 1928. Avocat au barreau de Paris et professeur de droit, il fut nommé ministre de la Justice en juin 1981 par François Mitterrand. Il fit voter l'abolition de la peine de mort en France et prit de nombreuses mesures en faveur des libertés individuelles, des droits des victimes et de l'amélioration de la condition des détenus. Robert Badinter a présidé le Conseil constitutionnel de 1986 à 1995 et fut sénateur des Hauts-de-Seine de 1995 à 2011. Il est l'auteur de nombreux ouvrages juridiques et littéraires.
