Synopsis
Yannis, un jeune pêcheur grec, vit pauvrement avec son père, un homme exigeant et irascible depuis la mort de sa femme. Un jour, en échange de sa croix en or, il sauve de la mort un dôle d'oiseau et le ramène dans sa chambre à l'insu de son père. Yannis lui donne un nom magique, Nicostratos. Popa Kostas, le prêtre de l'île, découvre que c'est un oiseau rare et merveilleux, un pélican blanc, qui, adulte, atteindra la taille d'un homme. Une tendre amitié se noue entre Yannis et Nicostratos. Mais le pélican grandit, devient difficile à cacher. Quelle va être la réaction de son père en apprenant l'existence de l'oiseau et le don de la croix en or ? Yannis et son père réussiront-ils à mettre un terme à leurs relations conflictuelles et retrouver la complicité qui les unissait ?

About the Author
Eric BOISSET, est né dans l'île d'Ithaque en 1965. Il voulait être pêcheur d'éponges mais ne put jamais s'habituer à plonger, car il paniquait sitôt qu'il n'avait plus pied. A 15 ans, il quitte son île et s'installe à Paris. Pour gagner de quoi vivre, il donne des cours de Bouzouki et enseigne les danses folkloriques grecques. Mais rapidement, il développe une allergie au colorant rouge du pompon de son bonnet et doit quitter la scène. Il se reconvertit dans l'écriture et publie cinq albums de bandes dessinées chez Vent d'Ouest. Le grimoire d'Arkandias est son premier.
