Synopsis

About the Author
D'origine juive ukrainienne, Irène Némirovsky, née en 1903 à Kiev, connaît le succès dès son premier roman, David Golder (1929), puis avec Le Bal (1930). Après l'Exode, elle se réfugie dans un village du Morvan avant d'être arrêtée par les gendarmes français, puis assassinée à Auschwitz, l'été 1942. Agée de treize ans, sa fille aînée, Denise, emporte dans sa fuite une valise contenant une relique douloureuse : le manuscrit ultime de sa mère, Suite française, jusqu'à ce jour inédit.
