Synopsis
Ils s'appellent André Breton, Louis Aragon, Paul Éluard, ils ont vingt ans à la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale, et veulent " changer la vie ". Pour eux, l'art ne peut pas se contenter de reproduire la réalité, mais doit faire émerger le rêve, le merveilleux, l'inattendu, pour atteindre ce qu'ils baptisent la " surréalité ". D'où le nom du mouvement qu'ils créent alors le surréalisme. Dans cette quête collective, ils explorent les possibilités d'un langage nouveau, en rupture avec la logique et le sens commun des mots : la terre apparaît ainsi " bleue comme une orange ", selon le vers d'Éluard. Les surréalistes n'ont pas changé le monde comme ils l'espéraient, mais ils ont insufflé au XXe siècle une liberté poétique hors du commun.
