About the Author
Rutebeuf, d'origine champenoise, vécut à Paris dans la seconde moitié du XIIIᵉ siècle la vie miséreuse des jongleurs. Son oeuvre lyrique, faite de pamphlets anticléricaux, de chansons de croisade et de litanies religieuses, marque l'apogée du Moyen Âge poétique. Il serait mort vers 1285.
