Synopsis
Dans cette patrie de l'imaginaire qu'est la Grèce, dont les légendes onttant nourri notre inconscient, Phèdre, épouse de Thésée, est tombée amoureuse d'Hippolyte, son beau-fils. Prise entre sa passion et son devoir, transie d'amour et dévorée de culpabilité, elle erre dans le palais royal, cherchant l'amour d'Hippolyte autant qu'elle le fuit. Pour Freud, se heurter au tabou de l'inceste, c'est se condamner à mort : alors seulement le jour reprend sa pureté. Et Phèdre, la plus trouble des héroïnes de Racine, devra faire face aux conséquences de ses actes. Psychologie, mythe, récit épique, ici tout est violence. Le véritable monstre ne sort pas des flots : il est enfermé dans l'héroïne.
