About the Author
Né le 14 juin 1907 à l'Isle-sur-Sorgue, René Char fut très proche du surréalisme et participa activement à la Résistance pendant la dernière guerre. À partir de 1945, il consacre sa vie à une ouvre poétique qui lui vaut une audience internationale. Il est mort à Paris le 19 février 1988.
