Synopsis
Le narrateur, à la demande d'une psychiatre, raconte les événements qui, en l'espace de cinq jours, ont dévasté sa vie. Tout commence lorsque ce vendeur de téléphones mobiles apprend le décès de son père, avec lequel il entretenait des rapports très lointains. Afin d'organiser les obsèques, le jeune homme se rend dans la petite ville où vivait le défunt et s'installe dans la maison paternelle. Il fait alors une découverte terrifiante qui le plonge, au fil d'un enchaînement insidieux de faux pas, dans une situation cauchemardesque. On retrouve ici ce qui faisait la force du premier roman d'Alexandre Postel : une narration implacable et ironique, qui donne au récit la forme d'une tragédie. Le sentiment de culpabilité, au centre du texte, génère une atmosphère trouble et inquiétante : jusqu'à la der- nière ligne, le lecteur hésite entre l'empathie, la révolte et l'effroi.
