Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Bibliotheque De La Pleiade. In French. You can see the green leather covers in the photos. They are perfectly clean and free of any conspicuous wear, thanks to the fitted protective cover (not clear if it was original to the book) which was present when I purchased the book. The cover edges and corners look terrific. The spine, as you can see also looks terrific, the gilt design is very bright. The top page edge is a light (aqua?) blue, perfectly clean. Also perfectly clean the white middle and bottom page edges. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. There are two green ribbons bound to the stitching behind the top edge of the spine. The inside covers and end papers, front and rear, are a soft, light green, perfectly clean and free of wear. The interior of the book is in excellent condition with the following exceptions: there is a vertical crease on the page with the lettering Bibliotheque De La Pleiade, and it can be seen on the next page, the title page, and a few of the following pages. And there is a fairly sharp crease off the top corner of the title page with some crinkling of the paper there, but no tear. The corner must've accidentally been folded inward. I can't find any other conspicuous imperfections on any of the other pages, 1,606 in total. I saw a few tiny crinklies off the top edges of some later pages, not much of anything. All of the pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. I'm also not finding any turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The plastic protective cover is in solid shape, one teeny tiny tear at the top edge of its spine. The spine itself has an amber hue, likely the result of its resting against the gilt design on the spine. You can see the slipcase in the photos. It is in very nice shape, very clean, very solid, no tears. Seller Inventory # 005508
